T20 World Cup 2024 Will Start From From This Date

The next commercial cycle of the ICC (International Cricket Council) will commence with the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup. Recent reports indicate that the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup will be contested from June 4 to June 30, 2024.

The United States of America and the West Indies will conduct the tournament across ten venues. The United States will host its first international cricket tournament in its history. Recently, the ICC conducted an inspection of American venues. Lauderhill in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, Church Street Park in Morrisville, and Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx in New York are among the venues.

Other than the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, the other venues have yet to obtain international status, and the ICC, Cricket West Indies (CWI), and USA Cricket (USAC) will jointly make a determination in the coming months.

The 2024 T20 World Cup will be contested in a different format

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the format of the T20 World Cup will differ from previous editions. Twenty participating teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each in 2024, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the Super 8s. In the Super 8 stage, the eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals of the main event.

With the United States and the West Indies co-hosting the World Cup, the thrilling contests could go a long way towards bringing cricket culture to the country. In a strategic decision, the ICC named the United States as co-host. The governing body's desire to add cricket to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games (LA28) could be a major reason why the United States would co-host the World Cup.
