IPL 2023 Playoff and Final Schedule: Friday, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) announced the complete schedule and venue information for the IPL 2023 playoffs and final. The semifinals and final will be held in Chennai and Ahmedabad from May 23 to May 28, 2023. On May 23 and 24, the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai will host Qualifier 1 and Elimination. On May 26 and 28, respectively, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 2 and the IPL 2023 final.
Ahmedabad, which is the home ground of the Gujarat Titans and has a capacity of 132,000, will host the IPL final for the second consecutive year. In the 2022 season, Qualifier 2 between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore was held in Ahmedabad, followed by the final on May 29 between eventual champions Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan.
In contrast, Chennai will host an IPL playoff encounter for the first time since 2019 on Sunday. It has hosted a total of five such matches, including two finals in 2011 and 2012.
IPL 2023 has thus far concluded 28 matches, with Rajasthan Royals ruling the standings with four victories in six contests. The second-placed Lucknow Super Giants have a comparable but inferior net run rate to the first-placed Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are at the bottom of the table with a single victory in six games, which occurred on Thursday against Kolkata Knight Riders.
At the conclusion of the league phase, the best two teams will compete in Qualifier 1, with the winner advancing to the final. The losing team will then face the victor of the Eliminator match between the third- and fourth-placed teams in Qualifier 2. The victor of Qualifier 2 will advance to the championship.
