Mohammed Siraj has reclaimed the top spot in the most recent ICC ODI bowler rankings, which were published on September 20, 2023. Siraj, who previously occupied the ninth position, has made a significant ascent up the rankings with this rise. The Indian pacer has now surpassed Josh Hazlewood of Australia.

Siraj's astute performance in the Asia Cup was crucial to his rise in the rankings. His exceptional spell of 6/21 in the final not only propelled India to victory, but also propelled him to the top of the ODI bowling rankings. Throughout the tournament, the star bowler from Hyderabad exhibited remarkable statistics, claiming ten wickets at an average of 12.2.

This exceptional performance enabled Siraj to surpass renowned bowlers such as Hazlewood, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, and Mitchell Starc, solidifying his position as the greatest ODI bowler in the world.The Afghan spin duo of Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan also improved their rankings, moving up to the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, in the top ten.

After recuperating from an injury, Keshav Maharaj of South Africa displayed an impressive comeback outside of the top rankings. Even after losing the first two games of a five-match ODI series, Maharaj played a crucial role in assisting the Proteas secure victory. 

His extraordinary performance, which included a remarkable 4-33 in the fifth ODI, garnered him eight wickets in the series with an average of 16.87 and an economy rate of 4.07. This performance propelled him to the 15th position, ten places higher than his previous career-best.

Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa secured a place in the top 10 of the ICC Men's ODI Batting Rankings after his explosive innings against Australia. Klaasen's record-setting ODI innings, which included 174 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 209.64, was instrumental in South Africa's decisive 164-run victory. This extraordinary performance catapulted Klaasen 20 places up the rankings, securing the ninth spot.
