The CSK are looking to tie the record for most titles won in domestic cricket's greatest extravaganza. Dhoni & Co. will face Pandya & Co. in the IPL 2023 championship match at the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium. GT recorded a comprehensive victory over CSK in the opening match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League in Ahmedabad, India.
In the IPL 2023 quarterfinals at the Chepauk, the second-placed CSK avenged their league-stage loss to Pandya's team after finishing behind table-topping Gujarat. This was also CSK's first IPL victory over Gujarat Titans. While CSK vanquished Pandya's GT team in the Qualifier to advance to the final, the defending champions defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 to secure their spot in the championship match.
