Ambati Rayudu recently created history by becoming the second Indian player to compete in the men's Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023. The St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots have signed Rayudu as the team's marquee player for the upcoming CPL 2023 season. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announcing a cooling-off period for recently retired players continuing on to play in foreign leagues, it is uncertain how Rayudu's participation in the CPL 2023 will go.
As the cooling-off period has not yet been confirmed, Rayudu could continue to participate. With the CPL 2023 scheduled to begin on Thursday, August 17, Rayudu's addition to the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots' roster could prove beneficial. Notably, the team did not advance to the elimination round of competition in 2022. With the departure of Dwayne Bravo, they will hope that Rayudu can endeavour to fill the all-rounder's void.
