The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Test and One-Day International (ODI) squads for India's impending tour of the West Indies. Next month, India will tour the Caribbean nation, beginning with a two-match Test series on July 12. The two teams will then square off in three ODIs and five T20Is.
The red-ball squad will be led by Rohit Sharma, with Ajinkya Rahane serving as his deputy. Test squad additions include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, and Navdeep Saini. Incredibly, Cheteshwar Pujara has been omitted from India's World Test Championship squad in favor of several new players.
Rohit will continue to captain the side in ODIs as the Indian team prepares for the Asia Cup and the all-important World Cup. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mukesh Kumar have also been added to the ODI squad, while Sanj Samson has also been included. Jaydev Unadkat has also been selected for both squads.
Hardik pandya has been named Rohit's deputy for the ODI series due to KL Rahul's injury, which rules him out of contention.
