SRH vs RR Highlights: Glenn Phillips,Samad Pulled Of Match For Hyderabad
Sandeep sharma oversteps on the last which allowed Samad to hit six of the last as a result SRH beat Rajasthan by 4 wickets.
Sunday in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals believed they had successfully earned two points after Glenn Phillips scored 6,4,6,4 before Shimron Hetmyer caught a swirling catch. However, the match did not end until the final whistle blew. Defending 16 in the final over, Sandeep Sharma made it five from one before he overstepped the final ball of the match, awarding Sunrisers Hyderabad a bonus delivery that Abdul Samad smashed over his head for six to pull off the greatest upset of this IPL.
Jos Buttler (95) and Sanju Samson (66*) took a heavy toll on Sunrisers' mediocre bowling, scoring superb half-centuries as Rajasthan Royals amassed a season-high 214/2 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. Sunrisers posted 51 for the first wicket, their highest opening stand of the season, prior to Abhishek Sharma's fifty, Rahul Tripathi's 47 off 29 balls, and Heinrich Klaasen's 26 off 12 balls.
Jaipur is not among the largest stadiums in India. Murugan Ashwin and Ravindran Ashwin gave up 25 runs in two overs as Sunrisers reached 98/1 after eleven overs. A further 19-run over from Murugan, in which Tripathi and Klaasen hit two sixes and a four, left Sunrisers needing 79 runs off 36 deliveries. Yuzvendra Chahal nearly secured the victory after that, dismissing Tripathi and SRH captain Aiden Markram in the 18th over, but Phillips and Samad scored 42 runs off 14 deliveries to effect a dramatic turnaround.
Earlier, Royals batted themselves into a strong position by utilizing successive partnerships — an opening stand of 54 runs off 30 balls between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Buttler, followed by Samson's addition of 138 runs off 101 balls. In top form this season, Jaiswal likely missed a simple fifty. Vivrant Sharma dropped an easy catch at deep fine-leg during Bhuvneshwar Kumar's first over, but Jaiswal gave no respite to the Sunrisers' bowlers. Jaiswal was dismissed against the flow of play when Jansen deceived him into guiding a rising delivery to T Natarajan at short third man.

Not only did Jaiswal's innings give the Royals a commanding start, but it also took the focus off Buttler, who was scoring at a rate of one run per delivery until the eighth over. Buttler's shackles were eventually broken by a flat-batted six off Mayank Markande followed by a straight six off Sharma. Buttler was attempting to saunter across the wickets when Kumar caught him with a yorker, preventing him from achieving a well-deserved hundred.
Samson had already capitalized on the Royals' rapid start by hitting Markande for two sixes in the ninth over, which produced 21 runs. Samson hit two more sixes off Markande to reach his fifty off 33 balls as the Royals added 60 runs in the last five overs after reaching 150 in the 15th over.
