MI vs PBKS IPL 2023 Highlights: When asked to bat first, PBKS, who were missing captain Shikhar Dhawan for the third consecutive game due to injury, posted a formidable 214/8. Sam Curran led the team with a score of 55 off 29 balls, while Harpreet Singh Bhatia (41 off 28) and Jitesh Sharma (25 off 7) also made significant contributions.

MI responded with a valiant effort but finished at 201/6, suffering their third loss of the season after three consecutive victories.Left-handed opener Ishan Kishan was caught in the deep early on for Mumbai. However, they formed two excellent partnerships thereafter.

Rohit Sharma and Cameron Green contributed 76 runs to drag the hosts back into the game. Rohit appeared in control, striking three sixes and four fours before being dismissed for 44 off 27 balls.

Suryakumar Yadav followed, and he proceeded to play a brilliant innings. He utilized all of his extraordinary strokes to score a fifty off 23 balls. Yadav (57 from 26 deliveries) and Green (67 from 43 balls) added 75 runs to keep the chase alive.

With eight wickets remaining, Mumbai needed 56 runs off 28 balls with eight wickets remaining, but Punjab fought back admirably with the ball to seal the victory. Tim David's explosiveness left MI needing 16 off the final six deliveries after the loss of six wickets. Arshdeep Singh (4/29) displayed excellent skill and composure to bowl Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera off the next two deliveries, breaking the middle stump in both dismissals, securing the victory by conceding only two runs in the final over.

Earlier, MI were reinforced by the return of premier fast bowler Jofra Archer, who had been injured after playing in the first match.

Despite delivering two wides in the first over, Arjun Tendulkar made a solid start with the ball, allowing only five runs in the first over. However, he was replaced by Cameron Green during the power play by Rohit. The approach was successful, as Australian all-rounder Matthew Short was dismissed.

Tendulkar was reintroduced in the seventh over, and he yorkered Prabhsimran Singh in front. MI had a strong five-over phase. From overs 10 through 14, they only allowed 23 runs. In the first over, leg-spinner Piyush Chawla dismissed Liam Livingstone and Atharva Taide. Livingstone had hit Archer for a massive six in the previous over, and Taide had scored 29 runs off 16 deliveries. However, their dismissals placed PBKS in a difficult position with Harpreet and Curran at bat.

PBKS responded with the bat in spectacular form, scoring 109 runs in the final six overs.

In his return to the assault in the sixteenth over, Tendulkar leaked 31 runs. The 23-year-old was hammered for two sixes and four fours after bowling a wide and no-ball. In the final third of the PBKS innings, Harpreet, Curran, and Jitesh displayed phenomenal striking. As MI labored to find the correct length on a flat pitch, the trio hit boundaries at will from the crease.

Chawla (2/15) was the best of the MI bowlers, as Tendulkar (1/48), Jason Behrendorff (1/42), Green (2/42) and Archer (1/41) were costly. Archer did, however, exhibit signs of his best with his furious yorkers at the end.
