Pakistan cricketer Ayesha Naseem announces retirement at 18
She has represented Pakistan in 30 T20Is and four ODIs, scoring 369 and 33 runs respectively, in the two formats.
Ayesha Naseem, a promising young cricketer for Pakistan, abruptly announced her retirement in order to live a more pious life in accordance with Islam. She will be missed in the international establishment. The 18-year-old cricketer informed the Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday of her decision.
With the rapid expansion of women's cricket in Pakistan, Ayesha had reached the pinnacle of her abilities; therefore, her decision to abandon the sport has been nothing short of shocking. Ayesha has represented Pakistan in 30 T20Is and four ODIs, accumulating 369 and 33 runs in the two formats, respectively, since her debut in 2020.
Naseem told PCB, "I'm leaving cricket to live my life according to Islam."
