RCB yet to renew its contracts with Sanjay Bangar and Mike Hesson
The three-time finalists have finished the IPL 2023 season in sixth place with seven wins from 14 games.

After the conclusion of the 2023 season, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has yet to renew the contracts of its head coach, Sanjay Bangar, and Director of cricket operations, Mike Henson. Notably, the three-time finalists concluded the IPL 2023 season in sixth place with seven victories in fourteen contests.
The contracts are typically renewed annually prior to September. The franchise recently stated that they are still undergoing a review, and if any adjustments have been made, they will make an official announcement.
"Their contract with RCB remains valid. The team is still undergoing evaluation. We will return if any team alterations are announced, RCB said in a statement obtained by ESPN Cricinfo.
Hesson, a New Zealand cricket coach, joined Bangalore in August 2019 after the franchise restructured its coaching staff after finishing in last place the previous season. Bangar's tenure with RCB began prior to the 2022 season, following Simon Katich's departure from the position.
RCB failed to qualify for the Playoffs in IPL 2023 under Hesson's stewardship.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finished fourth in the IPL 2020 season, losing the Eliminator to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and third in 2021, losing the Eliminator to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). RCB ended fourth in IPL 2022 after winning the Eliminator and then losing to Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, and failed to qualify for the postseason in IPL 2023.

Recently, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) replaced Andy Flower as head coach with Justin Langer, and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) may become the second franchise to alter its team administration. If the franchise were to separate ways with Hesson, the RCB women's support staff could be reconstructed. During the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL), the Smriti Mandhana-led RCB Women's team finished fourth out of five teams with only two victories and six losses.
