Mohsin Khan joins Lucknow Super Giants for remaining season
Mohsin was confined to the sidelines owing to a shoulder injury.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been handed a major boost as pacer Mohsin Khan is set to join the franchise for the remainder of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. For the unversed, the left-arm pacer was out due to a shoulder injury and was confined to the sidelines.
Earlier it was speculated that the pacer would miss the majority of the ongoing season after undergoing surgery to remove blood clots in his shoulder. Moreover, the franchise picked seasoned left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat as a ready replacement at the mini-auction in December.
However, the pacer has been deemed fit by the medical staff and is now set to join the LSG camp for the rest of their campaign as per ANI. LSG have further bolstered their pace bowling attack with the likes of Mohsin as the side already has Mark Wood, Unadkat, Avesh Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur, and Mayank Yadav in the line-up.
In addition to this, the pacer relished a decent first season as he got 14 wickets to his name in nine outings for the side. He also recorded his best bowling figures of 4/16 and was quite economical as he concluded the season with 5.97.
As he returns to action for the rest of the IPL 2023 season, Mohsin will look to ply his trade and put his best foot forward, much like how he faired last edition. LSG will likely bank on him towards the tail end of the matches and will hope that he delivers the goods for the side. The KL Rahul-led side will play against the Rajasthan Royals in their next assignment on Wednesday, April 19, and it remains to be seen if Mohsin makes the cut in the playing XI in the forthcoming match.
