CSK vs DC Highlights: CSK Beat Bottom Placed DC By 27 Runs
On the slower pitch CSK were able to post 167/8 on the board in response Delhi crumbled to reach 140/8.
Chennai Super Kings elected to bat first due to their experience. They were aware that the Chepauk pitch was sluggish, favoring spinners, and that scoring runs would be more difficult in the second innings of Wednesday's match against Delhi Capitals.
This did not imply that batting in the first innings was simple, but CSK, as they so often do, batted intelligently to reach 167/8 after 20 overs. There was no standout innings for the home team, but six batsmen reached the 20s before being dismissed.
In their reply, Delhi Capitals attempted to remain in the game as long as possible, but ultimately fell short (140/8) and were defeated by 27 runs.
At the conclusion of their Powerplay overs, CSK's batting position stood at 49/1. The batters were not aggressively swinging at the ball, but they were aware of the significance of a strong start and the need to maintain a high strikeout rate.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (24), Ajinkya Rahane (21), Shivam Dube (25), Ambati Rayudu (23), Ravindra Jadeja (21), and MS Dhoni (20) scored at a respectable rate, and their combined efforts were sufficient to propel the CSK total into a competitive region.
The first six of CSK's innings occurred during the eleventh over. This is the first time this season that they have not struck a six in the first ten overs, but the home team recognized that this wicket required a different approach.
Axar Patel was outstanding with the ball for DC, recording figures of 2/27, while Kuldeep Yadav (1/28) and Mitchell Marsh (3/18) provided solid support.
This season, Chennai's total was their lowest when batting first. However, given the circumstances, it was more than sufficient.
DC struggled from the beginning. Deepak Chahar bowled David Warner with the second delivery of their innings. They were reduced to 25/3 in the fourth over, a score from which they never quite recovered.
Manish Pandey and Rilee Rossouw scored 59 runs at a rate of one run per ball, but it was not enough to put the burden back on CSK.The scoring rate continued to decline in the middle overs when Jadeja (4-0-19-1) and Moeen Ali (4-0-16-0) were bowling, leaving DC with a lot of work to do in the death overs.

DC needed 77 runs in the final five overs, and for the visitors to win, they had to do something extraordinary. However, despite Axar's endeavors, they were unable to locate it."We lost three wickets early on," Warner said in post-game conversation. "This is our fifth or sixth loss in the first over." And we were the ones tossing away our wickets."
The DC captain added, "That was a very attainable score." We only need a strong start and a lengthy at-bat from one of our batters. Then, for four overs during the middle overs, we were unable to rotate the strike."
The victory maintains CSK in second place, one point behind the leaders Gujarat Titans (16 points). However, GT has the upper hand. DC remain in the basement position.
