LSG Signs Karun Nair As KL Rahul's Replacement For Remainder Of IPL 2023
LSG announced him as replacement of KL Rahul by mentioning his viral tweet in which he had asked cricket to give another chance.
The IPL 2023 campaign of the Lucknow Super Giants suffered a major setback on Friday when their captain KL Rahul was declared out for the remainder of the tournament due to an injury he sustained against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Karun Nair, a former RCB star, was announced as his replacement by LSG later the same day. It was disclosed on Twitter, with LSG sharing the viral "Dear cricket" tweet from the veteran India player.
Friday, LSG announced that "further tests and scans have confirmed that Rahul has a significant tendon tear that will require surgery." In fact, the injury rendered him ineligible for the World Test Championship final, which will be played next month at The Oval against Australia.
Later that day, they announced Nair as Rahul's replacement for the season by sharing his viral tweet from December. Nair, India's second triple-hundred scorer in Test cricket, tweeted, "Dear cricket, give me one more chance" after he was overlooked for the Ranji Trophy.

After establishing a name for himself in domestic cricket in 2013, he was selected by the RCB franchise, where he played for two seasons prior to joining Rajasthan Royals in 2014. Later, in 2016 and 2017, he played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) before transferring to the Punjab franchise. He returned to Rajasthan in 2022, but scored only 16 runs in three appearances before being released by the franchise.
