Rajasthan Beat gujarat By 3 Wicket,Fifty From Shimron Hetmyer and Sanju Samson
Shimron Hetmyer is firing on all cylinders as Rajasthan Royals' chase of 178 against Gujarat Titans is nearing tight finish
Sanji Samson performed brilliantly to counteract the harm that Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya caused during the power play. In the first three overs, the Rajasthan Royals scored only four runs after losing both Jos Buttler and Yasahsvi Jaiswal. However, Samson's 60 off 32 balls brought RR back into the pursuit.
He first contributed 43 runs off 34 deliveries with Devdutt Padikkal for the third wicket, followed by 59 runs off 27 balls with Shimron Hetmyer for the fifth. Hetmyer has kept RR's pursuit alive after Samson was dismissed by Noor Ahmad, the debuting Afghanistani spinner for the opposition. RR lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, the latter for a wicket, and seam dominated the powerplay in the early stages of their innings.
GT was limited to 177/7 by RR, with David Miller supplying the final push. Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill appeared poised for a score close to 200 after the powerplay, but after Pandya's dismissal, GT's momentum waned and they fell short. Miller made RR pay for dropping him early in his at-bat by scoring 46 runs on 30 balls.
