'Rahul should be on stretcher': Gavaskar, Manjrekar’s alarming reactions over KL Rahul injury

On Monday, the charismatic captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), KL Rahul, suffered a freak injury that dealt a devastating setback to the team. Regular captain Rahul limped off the field during the opening powerplay of the action-packed match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya took over the captaincy duties.

The LSG captain left the IPL 2023 match in the second over after suffering a right leg injury while preserving crucial runs for the home team. Even though a stretcher was brought for Rahul, the LSG captain elected to trek back on his own. Speaking on-air about LSG's latest setback, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feared that the team's captain would have to be carried off the field due to a regrettable injury.

"He is such a fit cricketer, a tremendous athlete, and a genius when sprinting between wickets while batting. He was giving his all on this quick outfield to get the ball and prevent those runs. "Thank goodness he is walking, I thought he might need a stretcher," Manjrekar said to Rohan Gavaskar during the Jio Cinema commentary of the IPL 2023 match. "I don't think it's a positive thing that he's walking. I believe he ought to be on a gurney. "Get to the locker room without aggravating the injury and receive treatment immediately," Gavaskar argued.

Something regarding the use of a gurney. It is something that many individuals dislike. I recognize that what you're saying is correct, so why argue? Just meditate on it. However, there is a problem with stretchers. Manjjirkar remarked, "I've witnessed a number of athletes rejecting it."
