Fans Erupt In Anger After Naveen-ul-Haq's Second Round Of Instagram Story
Moment before RCB loss from Mumbai Naveen's post left Virat Kohli fans furious.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were desperate for a victory on Tuesday given the close nature of the IPL 2023, with five teams tied on 10 points at the outset of the Wankhede match. Batting first, Faf du Plessis's team established a target of 200. And Mumbai Indians cruised to a six-wicket victory on the strength of Suryakumar Yadav's incredible 83 off 35 deliveries. Moments prior to RCB's crushing defeat, Lucknow Super Giants player Naveen-ul-Haq posted an Instagram story that infuriated Virat Kohli's fans.
Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell did their part with half-centuries during their fourth century stand of the season, but 200 was never enough at Wankhede and given the recent form of Mumbai Indians' middle order. It proved to be accurate.
Suryakumar and Neha Wadhera took some time to settle in before dispatching the RCB bowlers one by one after Ishan Kishan had established a solid foundation with his 42 off 21 balls. MI finished the game with 21 balls remaining after scoring a barrage of sixes.
Moments before the match, Naveen posted an Instagram story containing a snapshot of the MI-RCB game on television, in which the hosts needed eight runs in the 17th over. It was accompanied by the caption "Round 2 with these. "Thank you, @dhaval_parab bhai, for the best mango I've ever tasted." In light of the recent context of the match between him and Kohli, regardless of the cause for posting it, fans were left wondering what it could be.
Fans perceived Naveen's second Instagram post as an indirect jab at Kohli. Moments after Kohli's dismissal for 1 off 4, Naveen posted the photo with the caption "Sweet mango's"

During the home team's pursuit on May 1 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow during the IPL 2023 match between RCB and LSG, Kohli allegedly showed Naveen the dirt on his shoes. The conduct infuriated Naveen after a heated exchange between the two. The on-field umpire and LSG teammate Amit Mishra were compelled to intervene as the altercation lasted for an extended period of time and eventually extended to the post-match handshake.
BCCI penalized both Naveen and Kohli with hefty fines for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. Naveen was fined fifty percent of his match fees, while Kohli was fined one hundred percent of his match fees for his altercation with LSG coach Gautam Gambhir.
