Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by 3 runs

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got off to a sluggish start in their pursuit of 176 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Wednesday's IPL 2023 match at Chepauk. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the in-form batsman for the hosts, was dismissed for 8 early on, but Ajinkya Rahane and Devon Conway helped the team recover from the early setback.

The duo combined for 68 runs before Ashwin trapped Rahane LBW for 31(19) and removed Shivam Dube in the following over. Adam Zampa then took a wicket, and Yuzvendra Chahal struck twice in the same over to reduce CSK to 113-6 after 15 overs. After inviting Rajasthan to bat, Ravindra Jadeja bowled four exceptional overs as CSK restricted them to 175/8. The all-rounder took two wickets and conceded 21 runs in his allotted overs before Shimron Hetmyer entered the game and rescued Rajasthan from a precarious situation.

Hetmyer bowled a perfect 30 on 18 balls, including two 4s and the same number of 6s. Buttler continued his excellent form and hit 52 off 36 deliveries before being taken out by Moeen Ali.
