‘Kohli will do everything to take RCB into IPL playoffs’: Moody
Tom Moody believes that Royal Challengers Bangalore are in such position due to matches they lost during mid of the season.
Seven teams mathematically remain in contention for the IPL 2023 semifinals. The remaining teams are vying for the remaining three spots, as the defending champion Gujarat Titans have already secured a top-two finish. Realistically, only Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Rajasthan Royals remain in the competition. Although Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings are not officially eliminated from the competition, their net run rate makes it nearly impossible for them to win.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad with the intention of securing a spot in the playoffs. RCB are eager to come out swinging against SRH, who are playing for pride after being eliminated from the top-four competition. Two crucial points are at stake.
A loss tonight will terminate the team led by Faf du Plessis's participation in the competition. Both CSK and LSG (15 points) will qualify for the quarterfinals if they lose. Even MI would remain in contention if RCB were to lose tonight. This Southern Derby between these traditional rivals will be keenly followed by so many teams.
Tom Moody, a former Australian cricketer, believes that the RCB's predicament is a result of their defeats midway through the competition. The team's inconsistent performance during the IPL 2023 campaign has harmed them.

Tom Moody, speaking on Star Sports' Cricket Live, stated, "RCB's form has waned through the middle of the tournament; they began well but lost momentum in the second half. In their remaining contests, they must therefore put their best foot forward. They have a player like Virat Kohli, who will do everything in his power to keep RCB in contention for the playoffs."
Former India cricketer Yusuf Pathan pointed out the absence of teamwork in RCB's campaign this year, and the team's continued reliance on Kohli, Maxwell, and Faf (KGF) was evident. "RCB will be required to compete as a unit. Now is not the moment for RCB to concentrate solely on Kohli, Maxwell, and Faf. Now every participant must step up and fulfill his responsibilities," he said.
