'Dhoni can continue playing for another five years’ – Yusuf Pathan
Pathan feels that with the Impact Player rule being introduced, it will help the 41-year-old to sustain for another five years.
In order to qualify for the playoffs and possibly finish in the top two, CSK must win urgently. In addition, many believe that this could be MS Dhoni's final season in the Indian Premier League, which has resulted in a large number of supporters supporting Dhoni-led CSK.
All the players were seen taking a lap of honor after CSK's last home game to thank the supporters for their unwavering faith and support. This further fueled speculation about the retirement of the veteran wicketkeeper.
Fans are speculating about it, however, due to Dhoni's unpredicted decisions throughout his cricketing career. Yusuf Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, expressed an entirely distinct philosophy regarding how Dhoni can continue playing.
Pathan believes that the introduction of the Impact Player rule will allow the 41-year-old to continue playing for another five years.
"The new Impact Player clause allows Dhoni to continue playing for another five years, in my opinion. Others have discussed his retirement, whereas he has remained silent. He has a great deal of cricket left in him. Despite knee pain, he has struck several sixes in the IPL. This demonstrates his dedication to the sport, as Pathan explained to ESPNCricinfo.
