The International Cricket Council (ICC) has informed ODI World Cup nations that they must submit their initial squads by September 5. The teams have until September 27 to submit their final list, as the tournament is scheduled to commence on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Notably, Australia's 18-man preliminary squad for the mega tournament in India has already been announced. Marnus Labuschagne has been exculded from the tournament, while Pat Cummins has been announced as the caption of the Australians. Prior to that, the Kangaroos will compete in bilateral series against South Africa and India, after which the team management will select the final roster.

Concerning India,KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are currently recuperating from their respective injuries, and there is no information regarding their potential return.
