'Suryakumar Yadav did not like it': Ex-India pacer points major reason behind MI's loss
Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians in a close contest on Tuesday night
Thanks to Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, the Mumbai Indians started off to a tremendous start. At one point in the tenth over of their IPL 2023 match against the Lucknow Super Giants, they were 90 without loss and in the lead with 178 runs to score. But things soon changed when LSG leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi began to have a significant impact on the game. He dismissed Rohit for 37 and then Kishan for 59 in consecutive overs. The match gradually began to favor LSG.
The momentum shift was caused by both the two fast wickets and the three-over lull that Suryakumar Yadav and Nehal Wadhera experienced. As the urgency mounted, Wadhera faced six dot balls in the next three overs on his own. Suryakumar, on the other hand, was required to take action. He attempted a lap shot against Yash Thakur, but the ball was returned to his stumps.
Former India pacer RP Singh analyzed the crucial moments in the Mumbai Indians' innings that lead to their defeat. "If we discuss their batting, we must mention Ishan Kishan's wicket. They should not have lost consecutive batsmen and should have formed a small partnership. The burden increased after Ishan Kishan's departure.
I also believe Nehal Wadhera and Suryakumar Yadav failed to rotate the strike effectively. Nehal wound up playing a large number of dot balls, while Suryakumar Yadav was forced to stand at the runner's end for some time. It's likely he didn't enjoy it, and it was likely one of the reasons for the loss," he said on Jio Cinema.
Tim David's ferocious blows in the 19th over brought the equation down to 11 runs off the final six deliveries, allowing MI to recover from the middle-over confusion. Mohsin Khan performed exceptionally well by allowing only five runs in the final over to ensure LSG's victory.
"Mohsin Khan used unconventional bowling techniques. He bowled a length ball, a short good-length delivery, and then a yorker with a more effective strategy. He knew which batters the yorker would be effective against. Cameron Green is a legitimate batter whose bat speed varies slightly. For Mohsin Khan, brief or adequate length worked well. Sometimes, you must demonstrate your abilities. Nothing can be predetermined. Certain situations require you to rely on your intuition," RP Singh explained.

Previously, Marcus Stoinis' brilliance enabled LSG to post a competitive score. He was named Player of the Match for his astounding 89-run performance. Parthiv Patel lauded Stoinis' batting prowess, remarking, "He batted exceptionally well. Given how the pitch was at the beginning of the game and how difficult it was to bat on, he paced the inning extremely well.
He took his time and then put on a spectacular performance. Due to the slowness of the pitch, strength was required to make powerful shots. Tim David did it as well, but Stoinis's batting was a sight to behold. He played until the very end and was not out."
