Rohit Sharma Become Second Fastest Player To Reach 10000 ODI Runs

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is unquestionably one of the best batters in the globe. The veteran opener can defeat even the greatest bowlers on his day. Rohit Sharma has established himself over the years, while playing for India, as one of the most feared batsmen in the world, as evidenced by his statistics.

The 36-year-old reached a new milestone in his career when he reached 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. Rohit attained the milestone during India's Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match against Sri Lanka.

The Indian captain has been performing well at the Asia Cup 2023 and is one of India's most influential players. He was ineffective against Pakistan in the group stage, but he has been accumulating runs ever since. Rohit performed admirably for India against Nepal, scoring 74* runs in 59 deliveries. In the Super Four stage, he scored 56 runs off 49 deliveries against Pakistan.

His partnership with Shubman Gill was instrumental in establishing a respectable total against Pakistan and ultimately winning the game. Their contributions propelled India to a mammoth total of 356 runs in the first innings, and a spectacular bowling performance led to a victory by 228 runs.

Notably, Rohit became the second-fastest player to reach 10,000 runs in one-day international cricket, just behind teammate Virat Kohli. Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is the third fastest player to attain 10,000 ODI runs, having reached the mark in 259 innings.

Rohit Sharma accomplished the feat in only 241 runs, placing him in second place. Virat Kohli scored 10,000 ODI runs in a record-setting 205 innings, making him the fastest player to attain the milestone.
