Pakistan announced 15-man squad for ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup 2023

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its 15-man squad for the forthcoming ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup 2023, which will be held in Sri Lanka from July 14-23, 2023. The 'A' squads of eight different nations will compete for the trophy. Mohammad Haris, a wicketkeeper-batsman, will captain the Pakistan Shaheens, which is their 'A' team.

The 22-year-old has played in five ODIs and nine T20Is for Pakistan. Despite the fact that Haris has had a shaky start to his international career, those who have witnessed him play are optimistic about his future. In April and May, he was a member of the ODI and T20I teams that confronted New Zealand at home.

Omair Yousuf, a 24-year-old talented batsman, has been designated Haris' deputy. Yousuf has not yet participated in international cricket. However, his statistics in first-class cricket and domestic T20s are impressive. The right-handed batsman has amassed 2687 runs at an average of 43.33 in 40 first-class matches.

Yousuf has scored 290 runs in 10 innings with a batting average of 41.42 and a strike rate of 145 in Twenty20 matches. In the recent series against Zimbabwe A, he was Pakistan A's leading run scorer with 275 runs in four games.

Shahnawaz Dahani is an additional player to monitor in the squad. The lanky right-arm bowler is among the quickest in Pakistan's domestic circles. The 24-year-old has represented Pakistan in two ODIs and eleven T20Is.
