In Bengaluru Pakistan has encountered significant disruptions in their preparations for their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Australia. During their stay, a number of crucial players have been diagnosed with a viral respiratory infection. Four to five players, according to reports, have contracted a severe respiratory infection that has caused a fever and illness. Usama Mir, Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi, and Zaman Khan are among the players who have an elevated fever.

Reportedly afflicted with a bacterial infection caused by a virus, the fast bowler Afridi sought medical attention promptly and was prescribed antibiotic drips to aid in his recovery. Conversely, Shafique also developed a severe, high fever and is presently receiving medical attention.

Zaman Khan was added to the list of affected players, including Usama Mir, who has been in quarantine as a precaution after enduring the condition for five days, according to a report by Samaa TV. All of Mir's medical examinations, however, produced negative results. In addition, the media manager for Pakistan disclosed that cricketers are exhibiting signs of recovery and improvement.
