International Cricket Council (ICC) announced alterations to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule. The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan, originally scheduled for October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, has been moved up a day. The game will now be contested at the same venue on Saturday, October 14.
The England vs. Afghanistan match, originally scheduled to take place in Delhi on October 14, has been moved to October 15. In addition, the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad has been moved from Thursday, October 12 to Tuesday, October 10.

Notably, there were security concerns for the world cup's most important match, as the match date coincided with the commencement of the Navratri festival, which is observed throughout Ahmedabad.
India's final league match against the Netherlands has been moved from November 11 to November 12 and will be played at M. Chinnasamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the day and night. The match between Australia and South Africa in Lucknow will also be played a day earlier, on Thursday, October 12 instead of Friday, October 13.
