Ashes 2023: Weather Forecast for Day 4,Will rain wash out?

The third day of the ongoing third Ashes Test at Headingley was eventful despite rain consuming the majority of the day's play. Due to persistent rain, the start of the third day was delayed, forcing the umpires to take an early lunch. The second session suffered the same fate as the first, as the pelting rain rendered the audience expressionless.

Just as it appeared that the day would be utterly ruined by rain, players from both teams converged in the middle for the post-tea session. While it was a long delay for the hosts, the conditions for their bowlers could not have been better. Chris Woakes capitalized on the added potency afforded to the pacesetters by the additional velocity and cloudy conditions.

Before dismissing wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey in a similar manner, the seam-bowling all-rounder removed a well-set Mitchell Marsh with a wicket-taking yorker. Mark Wood and Stuart Broad made fast work of the tail, and Travis Head's late assault was the only reason the Australian lead was respected.

Even though the day only allowed for a little over two hours of play, England are in prime position to reclaim the series lead with a victory in Leeds. However, the weather forecast for the next two days is not favorable, so Ben Stokes's team will expect to finish on the fourth day.

Even though clear skies are predicted in the morning, the forecast is not favorable for the afternoon. According to Weather.com, there is a 79% probability of precipitation in the late afternoon. In the meantime, BCC Weather forecasts a moderate rain throughout the afternoon.

The afternoon showers could cause a nagging delay in play, with participants engaging in a game of cat and mouse. Nevertheless, if the clouds remain absent during the morning session, and given England's dogged approach with the bat, the host team may be able to produce a result as early as the second session.
