AB de Villiers heaps enormous praise on Suryakumar Yadav
The South African legend believes that Yadav has a long way to go in his cricketing journey and that there is even more potential to be unleashed.
Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers recently addressed comparisons between himself and Indian cricket sensation Suryakumar Yadav, highlighting the fact that Yadav has executed shots that he has never attempted. Due to Yadav's aptitude to play shots from anywhere on the ground, comparisons have been made between him and de Villiers. De Villiers lavished praise on Yadav, the current global No. 1 in T20I batsman rankings, in his remarks.
The South African legend believes that Yadav's cricketing career has a long way to go and that he has yet to reach his full potential. The former RCB legend stated that he and Yadav share a number of similarities.
"Suryakumar Yadav has an arsenal of shots that I never attempted during my playing tenure. "It's a joy to watch Yadav bat when he's in his groove," de Villiers said in an interview with JioCinema about Home of Heroes.
De Villiers believes that Yadav's ability to seamlessly switch speeds during his innings makes him an exceptional batter. The former Proteas captain praised Yadav's composed approach at the crease, citing it as a crucial aspect of his success. He added that Yadav's ability to maintain composure enables him to move slowly and position himself precisely for each delivery.
"When he is confident, he moves so slowly and lays it up so gracefully. He receives the ball very late. And once you snap that as a batter, once you recognize that the faster the bowler gets, the more you have to let the ball come, that is really beginning to click, and I believe that he has clicked. Therefore, there is no limit. "Pardon my pun," he said.
