Rohit Sharma optimistic about Jasprit Bumrah's return

Due to Jasprit Bumrah's back injury, he has been out of action for quite some time, and India have paid a hefty price for his absence in major ICC tournaments. Bumrah is poised to return to international cricket with India's upcoming series against Ireland, following an extended period of recuperation at the National Cricket Academy.

Bumrah's presence at this time will be crucial for India, particularly with the upcoming ODI World Cup on the horizon. His participation in the series against Ireland is regarded crucial to India's preparation for this prestigious tournament and their chances of winning. India's World Cup journey will begin on October 8 in Chennai, where they will face Australia in their first match.

As a result of the Indian cricket team's impressive performance against the Caribbean side, the upcoming matches will be exciting. During a press conference prior to the first ODI against the West Indies, Indian captain Rohit Sharma provided an update on Bumrah's recuperation and stated, "Bumrah is making progress."

"The level of experience he (Bumrah) contributes is crucial. Currently, he is recovering from a significant injury, and I have no idea if he will travel to Ireland since the team has not yet been announced."

"If he is able to participate, it will be beneficial, and we hope he plays before the World Cup. When a player returns from a severe injury, crucial components such as match fitness and match feeling are absent. Everything depends on his recuperation, so we'll have to see what's planned. We are in continuous contact with the NCA, and things are currently positive."

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reported on July 21 that Bumrah is presently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The BCCI confirms that Bumrah is in the final phases of his rehabilitation and is practising his bowling abilities during net sessions.

The NCA has scheduled practise matches to further evaluate his fitness, and the BCCI Medical Team will evaluate his performance following these matches before rendering a final decision regarding his return to international cricket.
