India have been dealt a significant setback in their ongoing match 17 of the 2023 ICC World Cup against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder, sustained an injury while bowling at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Hardik Pandya was introduced to the attack in the ninth over, and off to a solid start. On the subsequent two balls, he conceded two fours. When Hardik Pandya slipped while attempting to stop the ball with his right leg, he appeared to be in excruciating agony. As the physio evaluated the all-arounder, he was taped on the ground. Following recovery from the procedure, he attempted to bowl but was unable to do so; he appeared to be in agony and subsequently exited the field.

Even though the exact nature of the injury is unknown, it will cost India in the match. Hardik Pandya has contributed significantly with the cricket during the ICC World Cup 2023. In his absence, India will have only five specialized bowlers at their disposal, a resource that Bangladesh effectively utilized when they targeted Shardul Thakur.

Bangladesh, which had earlier won the toss, elected to begin batting. They were initially extremely circumspect, but as soon as they set their sights on it, they promptly dismissed Indian bowlers. Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan have each contributed to a partnership of over 71 runs, which is the most in the history of Bangladesh in World Cups. Their batting has been outstanding.

Virat Kohli completed remaining over

Following the departure of Hardik Pandya, captain Rohit Sharma transferred the ball to Virat Kohli. The spectators erupted in jubilation as this transpired, and they were "Kohli Kohli" cheaters.

Virat Kohli effectively bowled three deliveries. His accuracy was impeccable, allowing only two runs off of the three balls he delivered. It is uncertain whether Rohit Sharma will approach him again later in the match.
