Women's Ashes 2023:Ellyse Perry achieves historic milestone

Both the Australian men's and women's cricket teams are dominant forces. While the men's team has never lost the Ashes since 2015, the women's team last lost the coveted urn between 2013 and 2014.

Australia claimed the women's Ashes by a convincing 12-4 margin on points at home in 2021-2022. In this eagerly anticipated series, England will attempt to terminate Australia's recent dominance. The much-anticipated series has already begun with the Nottingham-based one-off Test. This will be a five-day contest, as opposed to the four-day contests that spectators are accustomed to seeing in female cricketers' Test matches.

Ellyse Perry, a veteran member of the Australian team, is one of its most significant players. So far in her illustrious career, the all-arounder has received numerous accolades. She is the first player to have participated in a record-breaking ten Women's Ashes series. Perry is the only player to have accomplished this extraordinary feat.

Since making her international debut in 2007, Perry has participated in a total of 10 Tests, 131 ODIs, and 139 T20Is.

Ellyse Perry on her intentions for the future

Perry provided an account of her voyage toward recovery and achieving full fitness earlier this month. The 32-year-old athlete stated that she would adore to play as long as she can contribute to the team.

"My body has felt terrific over the past few moments. I had a period where I struggled against obstacles, so I've been working hard to get back on track and am currently enjoying a good run. I feel extremely liberated from this perspective. It has been an enjoyable experience. I would adore to remain involved as long as there are people like me present.

It is limiting to believe that one can play for 'x' years. Perry was quoted by AAP as saying, "However, it is possible that when I wake up tomorrow, things will be different for me."
