Will MS Dhoni Play IPL Next Year? Check Out
Amid the viral video of the heavily trapped knee, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan made a heart-stopping remark on Dhoni's future.
MS Dhoni may have been teasing the fans about his impending retirement from the IPL at the conclusion of the 2023 season, but a recent video of him staggering with a severely trapped knee on Sunday evening at the Chepauk has many fans concerned about his health. The knee injury has plagued Dhoni throughout the entire IPL 2023 season, beginning in preseason camp. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan made a heart-wrenching remark about Dhoni's future amidst the viral video of the severely trapped knee.
Despite knee issues, which were addressed by CSK coach Stephen Fleming earlier in the season, the 41-year-old superstar had a phenomenal IPL 2023 campaign in which he returned to his vintage form with the bat and maintained his lightning-fast glovework.
On Sunday, a video of CSK's lap of honour following their final league game in Chepauk went viral, causing fans concern as Dhoni was seen donning a knee cap and limping throughout the ceremony.
After the game, CSK released a video in which the CEO delivered a significant hint about Dhoni's future in the IPL. He stated, "We believe MS Dhoni will participate again next season. I trust that fans will continue to support us as they have in the past."
Dhoni had indicated on two occasions that IPL 2023 could be his final season. Last month, after CSK's victory over SRH, Dhoni stated, "All things considered, it's the final phase of my career, however long I play."
A few weeks later, when a sea of yellow invaded the Eden Gardens and broke into "Dhoni" chants repeatedly, the CSK captain said in the post-match presentation, "They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd."

However, when pressed directly about his retirement during a match against Lucknow Super Giants earlier this month, Dhoni's response gave CSK fans new hope.
"Clearly, This magnificent farewell tour is your last. How is your enjoyment?" Danny Morrison had tossed the ball to Dhoni.
