Watch Video: Gautam Gambhir Glare Back As Fans Chant "Kohli"
Usually not one to get bogged down by such things, Gambhir stopped on the staircase and glared back to the crowd before disappearing.
The incident between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, which occurred three days ago, is still fresh in the consciousness. The BCCI imposed a 100 percent fine on both players as a result of the unsettling images of Indian cricket's two most prominent figures verbally attacking one another. Former cricketers Virender Sehwag and Sunil Gavaskar believe, however, that the punishment is insufficient, and they advocate for a suspension. Regardless, the incident between Kohli and Gambhir will be remembered as one of the harshest in IPL history, alongside Mitchell Starc and Kieron Pollard and Harbhajan Singh slapping S Sreesanth.

The fact that Kohli vs. Gambhir 2.0 refuses to fade out is also due to a number of events that simply prevent the matter from dying out. On Wednesday, during Lucknow Super Giants' IPL 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings, a segment of the crowd attempted and succeeded in getting under LSG coach Gambhir's skin while it was raining. A video posted to Instagram shows the audience chanting "Kohli, Kohli" as Gambhir approached the locker room. Gambhir, who was typically unfazed by such matters, paused on the staircase and glared back at the throng before vanishing.
LSG returned to action yesterday, hosting CSK at the Ekana Stadium for the first time since the Kohli vs. Gambhir fight. After MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl, the LSG reached 125/7 with four deliveries remaining before rain halted play. After much deliberation, the match was canceled due to the persistent rain. It's a shame that the game concluded in a tie because Ayush Badoni led an incredible comeback with a brilliant fifty.

The pandemonium between Kohli and Gambhir culminated in a full-blown dispute between the two former India teammates. It started with a heated argument between Kohli, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Amit Mishra. Someone had spoken to the other person in a way that offended them both. It is currently unknown what was said or heard between Kohli, Naveen, and Mishra, but after the match, the Afghanistan pacer informed his LSG teammates that he is "here to play the IPL, not to take abuse." The fact that Kohli was involved in a hostile exchange compelled Gambhir to defend his teammates. According to multiple reports, Gambhir questioned Kohli's behavior toward his teammates.
