Vijaykumar Vyshak-RCB's newest pace sensation

The 20th match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals featured a number of outstanding efforts from both teams. From Virat Kohli's 47th half-century in the tournament to Mitchell Marsh's excellent stint, one performance stood out more than any other, and that was debutant Vijaykumar Vyshak's brilliant spell.

Born and raised in Bangalore, the 26-year-old does not possess blinding speed, but he is capable of troubling batters with a wide variety of deliveries. Vyshak's domestic career speaks volumes, as he has taken 38 wickets in 10 first-class matches and 11 wickets in seven List A matches.

In addition, before making his debut for the RCB, he played 14 T20 matches in the domestic circuit, where he took 22 wickets with an economy rate of 6.80. Due to Rajat Patidar's injury, Vyshak was drafted into Bangalore's lineup, and as soon as he was given the opportunity, Vyshak delivered.

Vijaykumar profited from Vyshak's outstanding play in the Ranji Trophy.

Vyshak represents Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy, and the right-arm pacer has been one of his team's most influential members. Vyshak was the leading wicket-taker for Karnataka during the 2022-23 season, and his sensational exploits earned him a spot on one of the most popular IPL franchises.

The pacer, who had previously served as a net bowler for Bangalore, was handed an opportunity to start against Delhi Capitals. After Bangalore had scored 174 runs in the first innings, Vyshak's spell in the second innings was pivotal, as he took three wickets and allowed only 20 runs in four overs.

In the 20th match of the IPL 2023, he dismissed David Warner, Axar Patel, and Lalit Yadav to propel the Faf du Plessis-led team to a dramatic victory. As a result of his extraordinary performance, Vyshak could now participate in numerous additional games at the ongoing T20 carnival.
