Rohit Sharma Scores 10th Test Century; India Have Never Lost When He Has Scored Century
Rohit Sharma scored a remarkable Test century against West Indies on Day 1 of the opening Test match.
Rohit Sharma struck his tenth Test century on the first day of the first Test match between India and the West Indies at Windsor Park, Dominica. With a magnificent century, Rohit dominated the West Indies bowlers and placed the visitors in a formidable position. The 36-year-old appeared in command as he reached 100 off 220 balls with a boundary. Together with Yashasvi Jaiswal, he shared a partnership of over 200 runs for the first wicket against the West Indies bowling attack, demonstrating tenacity and perseverance.
Rohit took his time and batted patiently during the Day 2 opening session. Nonetheless, he punished the errant deliveries by hitting boundaries at regular intervals to keep the scoreboard moving.It was Rohit's second away Test century, but he was dismissed just one delivery after reaching 103. Throughout his meticulous knock, he hit ten fours and two sixes.
Intriguingly, India have a perfect record whenever Rohit scores a century in a Test, and they will seek to extend that streak in the current Test as the visitors are currently in first place.On Thursday, in addition to Rohit, his young opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century to proclaim his arrival on the international stage. The pair became the sixth Indian opening pair to achieve a century in the same innings of a road Test.

Rohit was dispatched by rookie Alick Athanaze for 103 after he gloved the ball in the air and wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva made a difficult catch. The Indian openers got off to a sluggish start on Day 2 as the two spinners — offie Rahkeem Cornwall and left-arm orthodox Jomel Warrican — bowled precise lines but few wicket-taking balls. Before playing their first strokes, the Indian openers took their time to settle in and gain composure.
