IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma highlights team's troubles of setting pace attack
People get injured, and we have to rotate players, unfortunately."Hamare pass fast bowlers ki line nahi lagi hui hain"
Injuries to a number of fast bowlers have prevented the Indians from constructing a formidable pace bowling attack, as acknowledged by Indian captain Rohit Sharma. In light of this predicament, Sharma asserted that they have no alternative but to rotate the available resources in order to effectively manage them.
India has decided to rest senior pacer Mohammed Shami for the Test series in the West Indies, while Jasprit Bumrah remains injured and Umesh Yadav has been omitted. In the absence of these important players, Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack alongside Jaydev Unadkat, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, and Mukesh Kumar.
During a press conference prior to the first Test in Dominica, Rohit Sharma was asked about India's experienced bowling attack for the red-ball series, to which he responded, "We have a very good bowling attack."
"Fast bowlers have taken many wickets in the West Indies. Sadly, athletes must be rotated due to the occurrence of injuries. We have no quick bowlers in line.
Sharma expressed confidence in the selected bowlers, citing the experience of Jaydev Unadkat and Mukesh Kumar's consistent domestic performances. Sharma stated that managing the workload of athletes and preparing for the World Cup were also important considerations.
This will always be a difficulty for Indian cricket, as we play so frequently. We must provide sufficient breaks for athletes because we want them to be fresh."
I want all eleven players to contribute: Rohit Sharma acknowledged that focusing exclusively on one series is not a luxury they can afford, as they must consider the bigger picture and build depth for upcoming competitions. As the team prepares for the Test series, Sharma emphasized the need for all eleven players to contribute to the team's victory.

While senior players like himself and Virat Kohli are held to high standards, Sharma emphasized, "Whenever you don the India t-shirt, your responsibility is equal. I want all eleven players to contribute."
On July 12, when the first Test begins in Dominica, India will rely on their veteran batsmen, including Sharma and Kohli, to deliver effective performances. As the team contends with injuries and player rotations, the objective is to establish a formidable bowling lineup and a winning combination for the upcoming matches.
