Ravindra Jadeja's ferocious spell of bowling rattled the Nepalese batsmen, and his three wickets in the middle overs helped India limit Nepal to 230 runs in 48.2 overs. In addition, he tied with Irfan Pathan for the most wickets taken for India in Asia Cup history, and tied for the fourth-most wickets taken in Asia Cup history overall.

The three wickets taken by Jadeja included three of Nepal's best five batsmen. In the middle overs, when he bowled a tight line and length and prevented Nepal from collecting runs, his bowling was particularly effective. In 16 Asia Cup ODI matches, the Indian all-rounder has claimed 22 wickets at an average of 24.77.
