No Written Assurance To ICC For Participation From Pakistan
The International Cricket Council has got no written assurance from the Pakistan Cricket Board for it's participation in ODI World Cup.
The International Cricket Council has not received written confirmation from the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding its national team's participation in the 2023 World Cup in India, despite the ongoing impasse regarding the Asia Cup.
"India's visit to Pakistan and Pakistan's visit to India are independent of BCCI and PCB. Therefore, PCB cannot guarantee ICC its participation in the global event.
A member of the ICC board with knowledge of the situation told PTI on Wednesday, "The Pakistani government will grant approval, just as it did in the case of BCCI; it can only go to PCB with government approval."
India is anticipated to play Pakistan in Ahmedabad, while the majority of Pakistan's matches will be played in southern Indian cities such as Bengaluru and Chennai.
Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is almost certain to relocate the Asia Cup to Sri Lanka after the majority of member nations rejected PCB chairman Najam Sethi's 'Hybrid Model' proposal.
According to the proposal, all of Pakistan's matches would have been played in Pakistan, while India's would have been contested in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, should they qualify for the Super Fours, have expressed reservations regarding travel between Pakistan and UAE.
Pakistan will not partake in the tournament if it is moved to Sri Lanka, according to an ACC source.

"Mr. Sethi attempted to persuade the members that 'Hybrid Mode' could be more commercially viable, but I can assure you that it is a logistical nightmare for cricketers from other nations who travel between Pakistan and UAE every other day."
"The ACC would request that Pakistan retain their hosting rights, but if they decline, the continental championship will be contested by five teams," an ACC source explained.
