Marnus Labuschagne added to Australia squad for ODI World Cup 2023
Ashton Agar has been ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023 due to a calf injury and in his place, Marnus Labuschagne has been included in the team.
The Australian cricket team has announced its ultimate squad for World Cup 2023. Marnus Labuschagne, who was absent from the provisional squad, has been added to the squad for the October 5th start of the main tournament in India.
In the potential roster that Australia named, there were a few injury concerns. Travis head due to the injury, there were clouds over his position on the team, but he has maintained his position in the final 15 of the tournament. The left-handed player will miss the first half of the competition.
Due to a calf injury, Ashton Agar has been ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023, and Marnus Labuschagne has been added to the team in his place. The batsman was added to the Australian squad for the series against South Africa, and he batted superbly in that series as well as the three-match series against India.
Australia favored selecting Marnus Labuschagne over the spinner for the selection. Adam Zampa will be the sole specialist spin bowler on the Pat Cummins-led side. This means that Glenn Maxwell will undoubtedly play a significant role with the ball moving forward.
Other than the addition of Marnus Labuschagne, there has been no change to the team. The five-time champions will enter the competition as favorites. They recently won the most recent ODI against India and are likely to be confident.
