ODI World Cup 2023: BCCI Set To Form Working Group For Tournament
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called a Special General Meeting (SGM) on 27th May in Ahmedabad to discuss a five-point agenda
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled a Special General Meeting (SGM) for May 27 in Ahmedabad to discuss a five-point agenda, including the formation of a core "Working Group" to supervise the preparations for the October-November 2023 ODI World Cup, which India will host.
The BCCI president, secretary, treasurer, acting CEO, and other senior officials will be a part of the Working Group charged with pre-match preparations and the tournament's seamless conduct.
According to a PTI report, the agenda also includes the formation of the Infrastructure Development and Subsidy Sub-Committee, guidelines for the appointment of physiotherapists and trainers in state teams, the formation of the Women's Premier League Committee, and the ratification of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy.
Revisions may be made to the four-member Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) founded in response to sexual harassment allegations against former BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.
The board has already allocated funds for infrastructure upgrades at ODI World Cup-designated stadiums. The majority of venues require immediate renovation and must be made spectator-friendly.

A dedicated timetable for the Women's Premier League must be finalized as soon as possible, making the formation of a tournament committee essential."This year, the Australian women's national team will play international matches until the third week of February, so the WPL cannot begin until then. Under the Diwali window, there is the men's World Cup," a franchisee official told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
Appointment of physiotherapists and trainers for state organizations will also be a priority. BCCI would like NCA-certified support personnel affiliated with domestic teams for a uniform fitness module and injury management program.
