Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023. The historic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata will host five contests, including one semi-final, during the mega event. Snehasish Ganguly, the chief of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), recently announced the prices for World Cup tickets.

Prices range between INR 650 and INR 3000 for all scheduled matches at the venue.Notably, the historic venue will host five matches, including Netherlands versus Bangladesh, Pakistan versus Bangladesh, India versus South Africa, England versus Pakistan, and the second semi-final. 

Tickets for the first match (Netherlands vs. Bangladesh) commence at INR 650, while those for the fourth match (England vs. Pakistan) and the second match (Pakistan vs. Bangladesh) range from INR 800 to INR 2200.

Tickets for the India vs. South Africa match and the second semi-final range from INR 900 to 3000. During the 2011 ODI World Cup contested in India, Kolkata was unable to host the India vs. England match due to unfinished construction.In the upcoming ODI World Cup, Eden Gardens may host the high-stakes India versus Pakistan match.

However, in the upcoming edition, the historic stadium will host several high-profile matches, including a potential semi-final between India and Pakistan. India will play their semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, as per the schedule. However, if their semi-final match is against Pakistan, they will play on November 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The two teams previously met in the quarterfinals of the 1996 World Cup in Bengaluru, which India won by a score of 39 runs. In the semi-final of the 2011 World Cup, India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs in a match that took place in Mohali. Recently, Snehasish Ganguly stated that a semi-final encounter between India and Pakistan would be a dream match. 

On October 15, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the two teams will square off during the league stage.
