Expect changes in World Cup 2023 schedule: Jay Shah
Shah's confirmation comes during the reports saying change in IND vs PAK scheduled match on October 15 due to clash with Navratri.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah issued an official statement regarding the rescheduling of the India vs. Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 match on Thursday, July 27. In light of recent events, a few alterations to the World Cup schedule are anticipated in the coming days. However, the venues will not be altered, but a request from member boards is likely to result in a date change.
Notably, India vs. Pakistan is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. Several reports, however, suggested that the game would be rescheduled a day earlier due to the Gujarat police's inability to provide security on the day of the match due to the beginning of the Hindu festival Navratri on the same day.
"Two or three member boards have requested that we change match schedules. It is not specific to the India-Pakistan match, said Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI.
