Australian team chooses Steven Smith's favourite knock ahead of 100th Test

During the third Test of the Ashes 2023, which begins on Thursday, July 6 at Headingley, Leeds, Australian batting legend Steven Smith will play his 100th career Test. Smith is regarded as one of the greatest Test batsmen of the modern era, with over 9,000 runs. Ahead of Smith's special Test, current Australian team members divulged their favorite hit by the former Australian captain.

Usman Khawaja, Josh Hazlewood, and Marnus Labuschagne are the members of the batting order. Nathan Lyon, Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, and Travis Head all agreed that Smith's double centuries in the first Test of the 2019 Ashes at Edgbaston were his finest. Smudge, as he is affectionately known by his teammates, scored 144 and 142 runs in two innings to proclaim his return to Test cricket following a one-year absence.

Several members of the Australian cricket team can be seen in a video released by cricket.com.au recalling Smith's extraordinary innings and praising him for his tremendous fortitude. Notably, Smith returned to Test cricket after serving a one-year suspension from Cricket Australia for ball-tampering during the 2018 Cape Town Test.
