On Monday, Amit Mishra surpassed Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga to become third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. This record was set during the IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Lucknow.

Amit took full advantage of the spin-friendly conditions. In four overs, he finished with a score of 2/21. He dismissed Suyash Prayudessai and the captain, Faf du Plessis.So far, he has claimed 172 wickets in 160 matches at an average of 23.75 and an economy rate of 7. In the IPL, his highest bowling figures are 5/17.

Amit has performed admirably in IPL 2023. In six contests, he has taken six wickets with an average of 18.16 and an economy rate of 7. His greatest bowling score is 2 for 21.Dwayne Bravo (183 wickets), Yuzvendra Chahal (178 wickets), Mishra, Lasith Malinga (170 wickets), and Piyush Chawla (170 wickets) are the top five wicket-takers in IPL history. 

RCB were reduced to a modest 126/9 in their 20 overs prior to the match. Other than captain Faf Du Plessis (44 runs in 40 deliveries) and Virat Kohli (31 runs in 30 balls), RCB batsmen were ineffective. They labored in conditions conducive to spin.

LSG's best bowler was Naveen-ul-Haq, who took 3/30 in his four overs. Amit Mishra took 2 for 21 in four overs, and Bishnoi did the same in three. In addition, Krishnappa Gowtham got a wicket.
