Rinku Singh took Kolkata Knight Riders to a stunning victory, as he smashed five successive sixes in the final over against GT.

On Sunday evening in the 2023 Indian Premier League match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Gujarat Titans, Rinku Singh smashed five consecutive sixes when his team needed 28 runs off the last five deliveries to win. Yash Dayal was on the receiving end of a power-hitting exhibition from Rinku as the Kolkata Knight Riders stunned the defending champions in Ahmedabad by three wickets.
At one point in the contest, Rinku had scored 9 runs off 14 balls. The batter's assault began with the fifth delivery of the nineteenth over, when he hit Joshua Little for six and four off the final two balls. Umesh Yadav, the other batter, took a single off the first delivery of the final over, with 29 runs needed to win. Rinku began his barrage of sixes by smashing the second delivery towards extra cover for a massive six.
Then, Dayal targeted his body but was unable to find the length; in an attempt to deliver a yorker, he bowled a full-toss, and Rinku simply guided the ball over the fine leg boundary for another six. The batter opened his bat and lofted the ball over cover after Dayal bowled another full delivery, this time well outside off-stump.

The third six came after a lengthy conversation between GT's stand-in captain Rashid Khan and Dayal, but Rinku remained unfazed; he despatched the fifth ball over long-on, and ultimately won the game for the Knight Riders by taking the aerial route directly over the bowler.
