The 'Men in Blue' are scheduled to compete in a number of very important tournaments over the next few months, which will provide Indian cricket enthusiasts with a great deal of action. The Asia Cup, which commences on August 30th, is their first assignment.

India is sending its finest team to the six-team tournament in order to receive optimal preparation for the upcoming October-November ODI World Cup. In addition to these two mega events, India will participate in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to dispatch a second-string team to the Asian Games because the top players would be occupied with preparations for the World Cup. Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to command a young and enthusiastic squad at the Asian Games, and it appears that the legendary VVS Laxman will serve as head coach.

Since Rahul Dravid will be with the main team during the Asian Games, BCCI had to find a replacement for him as chief coach. According to a report from Times of India, NCA chief VVS Laxman will become the head coach of the team that will attempt to win gold at the Asian Games. Laxman will be accompanied by Sairaj Bahutule, the bowling instructor, and Munish Bali, the fielding coach.

A star-studded Indian women's team will also travel to China to compete in the women's cricket competition at the Asian Games. Interim head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar will be assisted by bowling instructor Rajib Dutta and fielding coach Subhadeep Ghosh. The women's competition will commence on September 26 and the men's competition will begin on September 28.
