Robin Uthappa Points India's Problem At ICC Tournament

After losing two consecutive Twenty20 Internationals against the West Indies, former India cricketer Robin Uthappa stated that the Men in Blue's absence from other T20 competitions around the world has a negative impact on their performance in international matches and ICC tournaments. The 37-year-old stated that BCCI protects the IPL, but it hinders the players' ability to comprehend the mentality of opponents who play T20 cricket more frequently.

Uthappa believes that, as a result, foreign cricketers have an advantage against India. India are undergoing a transition in T20 cricket and have thus been unable to make a significant impact. He added that since the foreign players face Indian bowlers so frequently in the IPL, they are now acclimated to facing them in international cricket.

"I certainly believe the exposure at the IPL, and I believe it is a missed opportunity for India, particularly in ICC tournaments, because we do not play in any other leagues in other parts of the world. And I agree that it protects the IPL as a distinct entity, but I believe it damages us at the ICC level.

"I believe that these are the advantages that accomplished players have over our Indian bowlers when they face them in bilateral matches or ICC competitions. They've faced them in the nets and in the IPL for the past three, four, five, and six years. Therefore, you are already familiar with the bowler and batsman. Uthappa said to JioCinema, "Therefore, you have a great deal of information."

Meanwhile, India lost by two wickets to West Indies in the second Twenty20 International. In the 16th over of the game, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets and altered the game's momentum, but captain Hardik Pandya did not send him back for his fourth over, and the team ultimately lost. Now, they must win the final three games of the series in order to win the series.
