Ruturaj Gaikwad's selection is also expected for the upcoming Ireland series as both Rinku and Gaikwad performed well in IPL 2023.

Reports: Rinku Singh, other youngsters to be included for Ireland T20Is

According to reports, Rinku Singh and other top Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 performers who did not play in the West Indies T20I series will get a shot in Ireland. The new selection committee under Ajit Agarkar announced a 15-member squad for the T20I series against the West Indies, omitting Rinku while including Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. It is likely that selectors will not give all new players an opportunity in a single series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's selection for the impending Ireland series is also anticipated, given that both he and Rinku performed well in IPL 2023. Rinku's finishing ability impressed everyone, and he scored 474 runs in 14 games, whereas CSK opener Gaikwad played a pivotal role in his team winning the championship by collecting 590 runs in 16 games.

"Rinku and other players who performed well in the Indian Premier League will travel to Ireland because the selection committee does not wish to test everyone at once. Seven members of the Indian ODI team will not play T20 because they will be participating in the Asia Cup at the end of August, an official from the BCCI was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

It is important to note that senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were not selected for the T20I series against the West Indies because India is seeking new players for the 2023 T20 World Cup after failing to advance past the group stage in 2021 and the semifinals in 2022. The new selection committee has also requested that the BCCI organize more 'A' excursions so that they can identify and include up-and-coming players in the senior team.

Before traveling to Ireland, India will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is against the West Indies. Last year, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, the Indian cricket team played a thrilling two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against the Irish. In August, they will play three T20Is.
