ODI World Cup 2023: OYO to add 500 new hotels for smooth stay of fans
Meanwhile, travel demands see a massive surge during any marquee tournament, and the upcoming ODI World Cup is no different.
OYO, a hospital technology platform, announced on Friday, July 7 that it will add 500 new lodgings in the next three months in ODI World Cup host cities. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 5. Notably, hotels near Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad have generated a great deal of chatter in recent times, as numerous fans have complained that prices are too high for the October 15 match between India and Pakistan. OYO was the most recent platform to contribute value after a number of hospital technology platforms introduced a variety of new solutions.
Moreover, the impending ODI World Cup will experience a significant increase in travel demand, as is the case for all major sporting events. Companies are interested in the possibility of enhancing their revenue, so OYO must act swiftly to capitalize on the situation. Their representative has already affirmed the new development and stated that their primary objective is to provide comfortable and reasonably priced lodging during the World Cup.
"Over the next three months, OYO will add 500 hotels in host cities to meet demand for the Cricket World Cup. We want to ensure that everyone who travels from afar to witness their favorite teams has access to affordable and comfortable lodging, a spokesperson told the Economic Times.
MakeMyTrip, an online travel agency, has also extended an invitation to enthusiasts for a comfortable stay during the tournament. The company also added a new feature that displays the distance between the accommodations and the city's cricket stadium to assist cricket enthusiasts in locating the most suitable accommodation.

"For the months of October and November, we have observed a significant increase in the demand for hospitality properties in select cities across the country. This indicates that cricket fans are more inclined than ever to consider homestays as a lodging option, according to Parikshit Choudhury, chief business officer at MakeMyTrip.
"During the months of October and November, a large proportion of homestay properties in cricket centres are still available at a reasonable price for cricket fans," he added.
