(April 7) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the 10th match of the IPL 2023 will take place between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Super Giants have won one of their first two games and are currently sixth in the standings. In the first match, they defeated Delhi Capitals by 50 wickets after scoring 193 runs in 20 overs. Mark Wood scored a five and was named the match's Most Valuable Player.
LSG gained the toss in the second match against Chennai Super Kings and elected to field. In 9.1 overs, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway added 110 runs for the first wicket. CSK achieved 217 runs in 20 overs while losing seven wickets. LSG scored 80 runs on the power play and were well on their way to achieving their objective. However, they lost several wickets consecutively, which derailed their campaign. Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni attempted to save the team, but it was too late as LSG scored 205 runs with seven wickets lost in 20 overs and lost by 12 runs.
The Sunrisers faced the Rajasthan Royals for the first time on Sunday, April 2, and elected to bowl after winning the toss. In the absence of Aiden Markram, who played for South Africa in the ODI series against the Netherlands, Bhuvneshwar Kumar captained the team. While batting first, the Royals scored 203 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson each scoring a half-century. Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan each took two wickets for the Sunrisers, while Umran Malik took one.
The Sunrisers' pursuit got off to the worst possible start as they lost two wickets in the first over. Half of the team had already returned to the pavilion before 10 overs had been completed. Late contributions from Abdul Samad enabled Sunrisers score 131 runs in 20 overs. They ultimately succumbed by 72 runs.

This will be the second encounter played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow this season. During the first half of the first game, the batters had a wonderful time, while the bowlers dominated the second half. The same may hold true for this game as well. The pitch will presumably remain even throughout the duration of this match.
