Indian Deaf Cricket Association announces squad for T20 World Cup 2023

The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has spared no effort to make the national team a global powerhouse. The Indian team, coached by Dev Dutt, won the Champions Trophy in October 2022 and is now preparing for the T20 World Cup, which will be contested in Qatar from December 1 to December 12.

In the same vein, the IDCA announced a 15-member squad for the championship competition. Virender Singh will captain the team, while all-rounder Sai Akash will serve as vice-captain. From August 21 to August 25, the IDCA hosted a five-day coaching camp in Delhi for a total of twenty-five athletes.

Initially, 26 athletes were selected for the camp, but one of them was forced to withdraw due to injury. After evaluating the performances of all the participants, the selectors chose 15 of them for the forthcoming international competition.

The head coach, Dev Dutt, stated that the team is prepared for the impending challenges and commended the chief selector, Vinod Kumar Matta, for his support. After winning the Champions Trophy by defeating South Africa by 39 runs in the final, the players have their sights set on the T20 World Cup, as stated by the former.

"Preparations are proceeding extremely well. Vinod Kumar Matta, our chief selector, has also been very supportive. The objective is to win the T20 World Cup. We recently won the Champions Trophy, and our next goal is to win the World Cup for India," Dev told CricketNext.
